In the summer of 2015, the 24/7 Online Radio Group launched two international online radio stations providing music 24/7. However, as our radio service provider, Radionomy, was closing down its service, we had a relaunch and in December, 2019 we launched Classical Radio International, Jazz Radio International and 24/7 Nature Radio. In 2020, we were delighted to fulfill our ambition of launching 24/7 London Radio and 24/7 Blues Radio.

Our stations provide listeners with quality 64K online streams. This is a careful balance between quality and relatively low bandwidth.

Also in 2019 for our friends, followers and the music loving community we launched our Mixcloud radio cloudcasts. Our radio shows are listed on this podcast page and our 24/7 Online Radio mixcloud website. Launched on New Year’s Day, 2019, these podcasts are an advertising free zone! Just great music. (Royalties are paid by Mixcloud for the music on the podcasts.)

ONE.COM

We use One.com for hosting this website as they provide a reliable, high quality and friendly service. One.com is uses Anycast DNS. This solution contributes to provide all customers access to a reliable and fast name server network, distributed across various data centers around the world.

One.com has registered companies in Denmark and Dubai, although they also have sales offices in Germany, the United Kingdom and Holland. Since the foundation of One.com (B-one) in 2002 by Jacob Jensen, One.com has experienced constant growth and has today more than 1,000,000 customers in 149 countries. MIXCLOUD

On New Year’s Day, 2019, we launched our official Mixcloud site. Not only do we provide radio podcasts our programme producer will also bring to your attention any great music and programmes worth listening from other providers and DJs. You can listen to our radio podcasts on Mixcloud or on the Mixcloud podcast page of this website.

CENTRE FOR MUSIC PSYCHOLOGY

24/7 Online Radio is interested in how listening to music could improve wellbeing. In January, 2019 we launched the Centre for Music Psychology to focus on this area of research.

ROYALTY FREE MUSIC

On our Mixcloud cloudcasts and podcasts we are able to use most music recordings. Mixcloud has arranged international royalty agreements with performing rights organizations which collects license fees on behalf of songwriters, composers, and music publishers and distributes them as royalties to their members when their works have been performed. However, for small webcasters and internet radio stations providing a 24/7 stream over the internet and/or in mobile phone apps, the international situation has in recent years become more challenging since most of the internet radio service providers no longer provide a full licensing arrangement. If they do offer agreements, they cannot cover all countries around the world. For example, France is not part of some the international agreements.

With our previous internet radio service providers, Radionomy, (who paid various performing rights organizations fees), closing down on the 30 December, 2019, we have taken the decision to take a different approach.

In January, 2020, we transferred over to playing music that is Performing Rights Organisation (PRO) Free. Sometimes described as Royalty Free Music, the composer-musicians who have created the music provide a license which gives us greater freedom to play our choice of music without restrictions. They are not members of a PRO.

Geo-blocking

Although we have purchased non-exclusive international licenses for all the music we play, due to the broadcasting licensing conditions in some countries, we geo-block or geo-restrict our internet and phone app streams to them. This includes USA, France and Spain. We apologise for any inconvenience or frustration that this may cause.

Re-broadcasting or using music tracks from our internet streams

It has recently come to our attention that some recordings of tracks from our internet radio streams have been recorded and used on YouTube. Although our company has licenses and/or written agreements from the copyright holders to use all the tracks we play, these rights are not transferrable. Others wishing to use the tracks must obtain their own licenses directly from the copyright holders. Also as our music creators/music libraries are non-PRO, a license from your national PRO probably will not cover the use of their music. If you want to use the tracks we play, it is important to obtain a license from the rightholders listed at the top of this webpage.

How do I report an infringement of copyright on 24/7 Online Group stations or websites?
